スンコロク壺
タイの古陶、スンコロクかと思われますが、はっきりとしたことは分かりません。
ただ、この佇まいを前にすると、名前や来歴はもうあまり重要ではない気がしてきます。
小さな壺ですが、胴のふくらみによる存在感があり、
にじみや垂れの残る釉薬が愛くるしい。
ざらっとした土肌には、どこか風にさらされたような乾いた感じがあり、飾るというより、そっと置いておきたくなるようなもの。
分からないものに惹かれる、という感覚そのものをこの壺がかたちにしてくれているような気がします。

This is an old piece of Thai pottery, possibly from Sukhothai or Sawankhalok, though its exact origin is uncertain.
But standing before it, names and provenance start to feel less important.
It’s a small jar, yet its rounded body gives it a quiet presence.
The glaze—marked with soft drips and blurs—has a gentle charm.
The clay surface is slightly rough, with a dry, weathered feel,
as if it’s been touched by the wind.
It’s not something to “display,” but something you’d rather just place, softly, somewhere.
